At menopause, ovaries reduce their hormonal production reaching a situation where they are unable to maintain what the body needs.

It usually occurs in women between 47 and 52 and generates a range of symptoms such as:

Suffocation

Vaginal dryness / dry skin

Self-Esteem

A lack of sexual appetite

Tendency to discouragement

Bad mood

Insomnia or night sweats

These symptoms of menopause vary in every woman. The common and effective way to treat this symptomatology is by hormone replacement therapy.

What is hormone replacement therapy?

In hormone replacement therapy or HRT, the hormones that the body no longer produces are replaced. Hormone therapy can be of estrogen or a combination of estrogen and progesterone. The first is aimed at women who have passed a hysterectomy and the second for women with uterus due to the fact that progesterone protects from cervical or uterine cancer.

So far, HRT was performed with synthetic hormones with chemical content. But in 2002 a study “HWI” determined that treatments with synthetic hormones, when used over five years, tended to increase the incidence of breast cancer and cardiovascular disorders slightly. An alternative to HRT with synthetic hormones and not generate these serious effects is doing a HRT with natural bio-identical hormones

What are natural hormones?

Natural hormones or bio-identical hormones are extracted from plants and don’t generate the side effects of synthetic hormones. They are hormones with better benefits than synthetic hormones, especially in the vital tone (animosity), muscle tone and sex relationships.

The SottoPelle® are identical hormones that are placed under the skin and lasts 4 to 6 months. Their subdermal placement allows the body to absorb only the amount that it needs.

Read more about SottoPelle and natural hormones.

What is menopause?
