Brief resume of Dr. Stefan Iliev

With special dedication to the monitoring of high and low risk pregnancies, a recognized expert in maternal-fetal medicine, diagnosis of fetal pathologies, Dr. Iliev in his daily practice takes care of women’s health at every age, from adolescence through menopause and beyond.

Stefan Iliev has an extensive experience in performing gynecological examinations and all pathologies associated with the female reproductive system: general gynecology, pelvic floor unit, study of urinary incontinence and reproductive health.

A leading professional in Obstetrics and maternal-fetal medicine

Dr. Stefan Iliev has been interested in training in natural childbirth techniques, without the use of episiotomy, as well as in minimally invasive gynecological surgery, intrauterine growth retardation, fetal ultrasound and complex high-resolution anatomical studies, such as neurosonography, fetal echocardiography and incorporation of new 3D and 4D ultrasound techniques.

His PhD degree was based on a three-year research on “Diagnosis and management of intrauterine growth restriction” that was graded “Cum laude” in 2013.

Wide and extensive international training

In constant training for more than 20 years, Dr. Iliev has practiced as a gynecologist in several countries, which has given him significant international recognition. He has participated as a clinical researcher in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Harvard Medical Center and at Beth Israel Medical Center, both hospitals in Boston, USA. He has worked as a gynecologist at the Hadassah Medical Center, Israel, and also worked at the “La Paz” Medical Center “, in Bata, Equatorial Guinea.

Among his extensive continued training, it is also worth highlighting that he has been a clinical researcher in the perinatal research group at the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona.
